🦔 Hedgehog

A hedgehog, a small, spiny mammal sometimes kept as a pat. Generally depicted in full profile on all fours facing left, with a round, brown body covered with spines and a light-brown face and underside.

Sometimes used to represent a porcupine or echidna.

Google and Twitter’s designs show a hedgehog facing forward. Apple and WhatsApp’s design suggest a slight smile. Facebook’s design previously featured a hedgehog on its back, rolled up in a ball.

Hedgehog was approved as part of Unicode 10.0 in 2017 and added to Emoji 5.0 in 2017.
