🦉 Owl

An owl, the hooting, large-eyed bird of the night. Depicted as a reddish-brown owl, as a great horned owl, facing forward, Shown with large, round, gold-rimmed eyes, feet curled on or as if on a branch, wings tucked in, and its distinctive, horn-like tufts of feathers.

May be used to represent wisdom. Popularly used in connection with the hip-hop artist Drake.

Apple and Microsoft’s owls are on a branch. Microsoft’s owl previously resembled a barn owl, Samsung’s was purple.

Owl was approved as part of Unicode 9.0 in 2016 and added to Emoji 3.0 in 2016.
