Google's spider is upside down, suspended from a thread. Facebook’s spider is shown on its eight legs facing left. Microsoft’s spider was previously a black widow, Samsung’s was brown.

Spider was approved as part of Unicode 7.0 in 2014 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
